hi all,
I'm new to vsan/starwind. Unfortunately I don't have budget for the new san until next year, for sure I'm going to use starwind. So for now I would like to test starwind on one esxi, is it totally free to use the free-version?
Thanks.

Yes, free is free. I don't see any point in using StarWind Virtual SAN with just one VMware box however. Technically you need to have a cluster to get benefits from shared storage.

I am using it on my windows 7 right now... It's stable and even give high IOPS than my hp4500g2, amazing. I'm going to buy the tray, transfer the disk on my hp dl380 and see what happens.
Thanks.

Doable and working but I would not say it's a production-style scenario...
