Whats the maximum size for L2 cache? if I set it to 1tb it crashes? 512mb works fine.

There's no limit. Should not crash in any case. Brought R&D guys attention on that. Thank you for reporting.

Hi,

Same problem there. Trying to add cache L2 of 1.5TB and crashes. over 600GB it fails...

Hi,

Having so much cache that large may cause data loss in the event of a power outage. Also, L2 cache, by its design boosts only reads; see more about caching https://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware. ... rinciples/. You can boost both reads and writes by putting a HA device on the device intended for the L2 cache.

ok got it (RTFD)

1To for 6.5 RAM.... That was the trick. I added RAM on the VM and it works perfectly.

I don't get why we could loose any data. If it's a cluster with 2 nodes and a HA device with same parameters L1 and L2 cache (WT).
