Hello all,
Recently i have downloaded the Trial Version of StarWind iSCSI SAN & NAS for my Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V cluster test environment. I have to 2 Fileserers and on both servers i create an .img file for the virtualdisk (for the hyper-V storage). Now i have to slect a NIC for Heartbeat and sync. I have only 1 NIC in each server. I cannot select a NIC, is this because i have only one NIC. It is for a test network and i do not have enough hardware to create 2 NIC's in each server. How can i fox this?

Hi!
Actually you should have at lease two NICs on each server to run HA. As the work around you can try to virtualize the network card , but that is supported for test labs only.

Sure. Create a set of VLANs on top of your physical LAN and proceed with your eval.

Hi anton,
First, thanks for your reply. The two servers are now both with 2 NICs. Now I can be in the "Add Device Wizard" only one NIC, why is the other NIC is not visible? How can I fix this?
See the attachments.
Sorry for my bad English, i am from The Netherlands.

In most of cases we can see such behavior when something else (like MS target) is reserving the NIC, can you doublecheck if this is so please?

What happens if you have to change the ip's on the nics, what does starwind do...does it stop working?

You`ll probably have a split brain, or just unsynchronization of devices. Anyway, it is not hte best idea to change IPs on the fly.
