getting the following error when I just try to connect locally (i.e. localhost or 127.0.0.1 or <machine name>)

Cannot connect to the server
Username or password you entered is invalid.

using XP sp1

tried using Anonymous connection and not (i.e. logging in as admin w/admin password)

any ideas?

The default username/password: test / test

You can change them in StarWind.conf or via the StarWind GUI interface after a successful login.

I just installed Starwind (default install) on a W2K3 SP1 Enterprise server and started Starwind. When I went to connect using test/test (i haven't changed them) I get:

Cannot connect to the server:
No connection could be made becasue the target machine actively refused it.

Any ideas?

OK - apparently something else is using that port so I moved it to a port over 15000 and it seems to work fine now.

StarWind Control port is 3261 by default (+1 of the iSCSI listener port 3260).

BTW what is the application that uses port 3261 on your machine?

I have the same problem, and no matter what port I try it always comes up with the same error.

I am using 2003R2 enterprise edition, if that makes any difference?

Please check the firewall settings on the server to allow TCP/IP port 3260 for incoming connections.
Also the client's firewall must allow port 3260 for outgoing traffic.
