Hi all

I always thought that free edition of StarWinds' iSCSI target is allowed to use in production. But when I checked license.txt file (attached to V5.7 and V5.8 ) there stands:

Code: Select all

USE OF SOFTWARE: StarWind Free / evaluation software is provided for
personal and internal use only and may not be used for commercial or
production purposes. In contrary commercial versions of software provided
with the right for commercial or production use without restrictions.
what suggests that free version is in fact free for personal (home?) use.

I have asked question above to 'info@starwindsoftware.com' but no answer yet.

It's old version EULA we've forgot to replace with the most recent one. We'll update it and site thank you for pointing out!

** StarWind Free can be used in production however we suggest using commercial versions b/c of support and features. **

Sales been trying to reach you on phone but w/o luck.

Anton, thanks for replying and clarifying things. I have also received message from Alex Satler stating clearly "you may use StarWind Free Edition in production environment". For the future please pay close attention to EULA content - IMHO it is quite important (for some of us at least ).

Thanks again.
