i've just downloaded and installed starwind. i'm pitting it against the wintarget product. the first thing i noted was that wintarget is much easier to use, but i find the starwind cli very interesting and a potentially powerful ally.

i'm trying to create a virtual drive to share, but whenever i try to create an "image file device", i get "Cannot add device. device test failed for 'ImageFile20'." i've checked the online help (.pdf file) and the .conf file .pdf, but i couldn't find anthing to help me get started with building image file devices. am i missing some obivious manual?

thanks.

Hi,

What is the version of StarWind you are using?
We had an issue with adding ImageFiles with StarWind GUI.

One question: Did you created the image file with mksparse.exe before trying to mount it with StarWind?
Best regards,
Valeriy
