Newly created image file compressed?

I noticed yesterday when I created a new basic virtual disk that the image file was showing up blue, compressed. I then went and changed it
to not compressed in the file property window, I also noticed that the ready for archive was checked, which i unchecked.
Then I noticed the file attributes on all my image files, and they all the the A attribute except for the one i just modified. So I was curious
if starwind is using this attribute in any way, and if I should or shouldn't have it like this. Also what would explain the image file being compressed, as I have not seen this happen before?
thanks

By default StarWind doesn`t use NTFS compression. It can be enabled during creation of target or for file (disk) in Windows explorer.
You can use this option if you want to save some space. In some rare cases it even can improve performance, but anyway you`ll face with higher CPU load.

NTFS compression is a definite performance pig. Wait for next StarWind release with de-duplication engine. It will provide much better disk space usage rates.
