Hi all,

I have a fundamental Question. I have a Win2008R2 Server with a 5TB RAID5 that is published as a iSCSI Target by Starwind. On the Mac clients I use GlobalSAN(for testing only) and MetaSAN to access and share the Volume. But how can I access the Volume Target if I install MetaSAN on the target the Volume becomes unreachable.
Is there a way to access the volume on the Target protected by a SAN?

Best Regards,
Sebastian

You can mount it in read-only mode without MetaSAN,
And what is the potint of managing data from the SAN itself? Are you running additional production software on the server?

On the server with target is a video capture software running that should write video streams to the volume. The other SAN members are two Macs with FinalCut for editing the videos while they are captured.

I presume you have already contacted MetaSAN regarding this issue, and they did not find anything from their side.
A solution can be turning a video capturing server into a VM which is on the same machine with StarWind (if you are using 2008R2).
