Hello. I am trying to find some good information that talks about how to setup the networking for to host a redundant SAN. Does anybody know where some good information is?

My configuration will be Dual firewalls, Dual Dell 5448 network switches, several Citrix XenServer Host servers, and Dual StarWind SAN servers. I would like to do MPIO on all the NICS on the StarWind Servers and the XenServer Host servers.

I know that I will need to setup VLANs for the normal data traffic and one for the iSCSI traffic.

Do I have trunks between the VLANs on the switches or will the XenServer and StarWind SAN servers know when there is a break in connection?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,

You can take a look at the Xenserver configuration guide available at http://www.starwindsoftware.com/images/ ... Server.pdf

As for setting up redundancy - StarWind natively does not provide this feature yet. Perhaps Mirroring and Replication may help.

Thanks
