I setup starwind iSCSI and it works fine with VMware. When I try to set it up with Virtual Iron I can see from each node. But when I try to create a new disk group from virtual storage tab, its starts to and then fail. When I try to add it as a second disk from the virtual machine, I see it in the guest OS (windows 2003 server enterprise) but when I try to create a partition it fails with an error. I have edited the starwind ini file to get to this point. Has anyone successfully used this combination?

Thanks

Hello,

Some manual configuration file corrections are required sometimes. For this particular case there is the following workaround:

• open C:\Program Files\StarWind Software\StarWind\starwind.cfg
• Find the following parameter: <iScsiDiscoveryListInterfaces value="1"/> and uncomment it (remove “!--“ in the beginning of the string and “--” in its end.
• Restart StarWind Service;

Please let us know if that helps.

Thanks
Rob

Yes I already made that change for Virtual Iron to even see the Starwind.

Hello,

We would need a log file from C:\Program Files\Starwind software\Starwind\logs to investigate that.

Please send this to support@starwindsoftware.com

Thanks
