Hi,

We're using de rocket iscsi target solution to store MS iscsi disk in virtual servers.

We're looking for backup the content of these image files directly from the iscsi server (W2003 x64) via a backup software installed like Symantec Backup 12.5 (Veritas) to tape

How to access to these contents without any data manage? do we use a special iscsi initiator?

Thanks for your help

You can backup volume image files with any software. Or do you need concurrent access to MOUNTED images?

Anton,

i've been reading the document about StarWind and MetaSAN.

and i did'nt understand the implication of these solution over a windows 2003 with its image files stored in their hard disk.

Meta san allows windows 2003 serveur to read contents file from their owns image files?

Yes. Allows concurrent access.
