Hi everybody,

I am setting up an shared storage for a cluster, and I get an error message when I try to add a disk bridge device.

I am following the article to set up the iSCSI target software.

When I get to the screen "Disk bridge device parameters" (see link above) I see the name of the device shows like this:

\\?\physicaldrive1
(? question mark indicates something is not recognized?)

After this step, the wizard fails, indicating the device cannot be added.

iSCSI environment:

Windows 2003 Server standard x64 SP2
Starwind 3.5.5 build 20080930 X64

Thanks for your help,

Carlos.

We need complete StarWind log. For now we can only GUESS you've used to share the drive you keep Windows and swap file on.

Thanks for your reply, I turned out the friendly name was not what the software expected:

From the log:

11/4 1:21:59.380 7c8 S: Assigned target name: 'iscsi_1gb', SymId: 'DiskBridge0'.
11/4 1:21:59.380 7c8 Tgt: * target name 'iscsi_1gb' is invalid according to RFC 3722!
11/4 1:21:59.380 7c8 Srv: * Device test failed for 'DiskBridge0'.

Simply used a more friendly name, now it works.

Thanks for your help, we can call this resolved,

Carlos.
