Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

I am getting "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" every time I want to initialize a new volume. I am VERY new to the product. Would anyone happen to know what I might be doing wrong?

In server A (iscsi target) i had installed a new hdd and started off there.

In Server B (initiator) I was able to connect. I was able to put the drive online but got that error when I tried to initialize it.

Then realized what might be happening. So on server A I marked the drive as online, initialized and created a basic partion.

Now, server b is a happy camper.

Hi,

I had the same problem except I can do what you did. I want to use the target for Microsoft DPM and that needs to make the partitions and volumes itself.

Any work arounds?

Same problem = same solution. Initialize the volume before use.

Hi Anton,

I can't do that with DPM. The drives have to be unallocated so that DPM can make the sizes themselves.

We need StarWind logs to find what's wrong (support@rocketdivision.com).
Do you use DiskBridge device type to export hard disks?
Please try Image File also.
