just installed starwind on a W2008 and W2k3 windows servers. I do the login to make the connection. I create an "image" folder on the target disk. When I attempt to create a image or IB volume on either system I'm getting the following error: "Device test failed for ibv0".
I running the download from the web site: 3.5.3 build 20080229

thanks for the help!

ugh, the file naming pattern I was using is not valid. Do you know what the proper pattern is? I was using ibv_img_1. I presume "_" are not allowed? not sure...

Hi,

The valid file extensions and alloved folders are specified in StarWind.cfg file.

By default ImageFile devices use *.img extension.
And IBVolume ones use *.ibv

actually I was using the proper extensions. It appears to be the filename part that was the issue. A file name like ibv_test_1.ibv does not work. Log indicates improper filename. A file name like ibvtest1.ibv does work.

Hi.
What target name have you specified? "ibv_img_1" ?
It is impossible to use "_" symbols in target name.
Please try to create IBV device with ibv_img_1 file name and ibvimg1 target name. I think there will be no errors.
