Are there directions for configuring two StarWind storage servers to be used as external iSCSI storage for a 2-node VMware ESX 3.5 Server with HA option enabled?

Hi,

I'm quite interested by this storage architecture. We also have 2 storage Servers with Starwind and 2 VMWARE Esx 3.5 servers.
Is it possible to use mirroring to assure business continuity ?

Such a configuration should work. Our technicians will prepare a HOWTO manual when we'll have some more or less free time slice.

I'm also waiting for more information, i've VMmachines with one starwind server, setuped an eval version for mirroring, the mirroring works but i need more info to mount both luns (active and passive) to 2 ESX and how to check on the passive ESX/Storage if all VMFS are ok :)

If anybody have more info ... welcome :)

Hi, Guys.
We are working on ESX clustering guide. Unfortunately it is not ready for download yet.
But I can provide you with the storage configuration guide.
http://www.rocketdivision.com/downloads ... or_HAV.pdf

The storage is either hardware device or storage server configured according to the http://www.rocketdivision.com/info/star ... luster.pdf guide.

Hello,

Just few words about it... but i've tested with 2 starwind servers, and it's works, the failover is not automatic (i'm waiting the avalability eval for Vmware SRM).

Just one problem corrected as soon possible into starwind, the logging for mirroring is full verbose and the logs take more 1GB by Day.. :(

If anybody need help to test, contact me :-)

Tested with ESX3.5 and Iscsi software initiator...

Logged mode is not indended to be used for production level so I don't
think it's a problem :)
