I have installed the trial version of StarWind on a Dell PowerVault NAS box and created an image file of 1Gb. I then installed the Microsoft Initiator 2.0 on a file server running Win2K3. From the file server, I can login to the target and the discovery and target tabs show the StarWind target. However, I do not see a drive letter and I'm not sure what steps I should take next to make the target drive available. Under Target Properties/Devices/Advanced tab, I see the following information:
Type: Disk
Device Number: 1
SCSI Address: Port 2, Bus 0, Target ID 0, LUN 0
Device Interface Name: \\?\scsi#disk&ven_rocket__&prod_imagefile_______&rev_0001#1&2afd7d61&0&000000#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c9
Legacy Device Name: \\.\PhysicalDrive1
Volume Path Names:

The Device Interface Name appears confusing. Does this look correct? Also, when I go to the BoundVolumes/Devices tab and click on 'bind all', the Device Interface Name is added to the list as show above.

I am obviously missing something. Can you tell me where to go from here?

Thanks!
Joe

Run Disk Administrator, partition and fomat the drive exactly in the way you do with an ordinary hard disk...

Anton,
That was it. Didn't think it would be that easy. Thanks for the quick response.
