Just Submitted my case for this same Issue with a Seagate 5TB Expansion Drive. Startwind wont start if the Drive is plugged in at boot or it hangs if I plug the Drive in after Starwind is running.

StarWind version 8.0.0.9996

Thank you for contacting us.

This issue is related with SPTI driver, which hangs StarWind Service. This option will be added as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, workaround is to get custom license without this driver. Since you have already submitted case, I will send custom license key via email.
