Is it ok to run yum or windows updates on VSAN installs?

Is it ok to run yum or windows updates on VSAN installs? For some reason I thought you should not run yum update but only use the starwind update script but I have found that it only updates starwind and not the OS.

Welcome to StarWind Forum. You can update the Hypervisor that hosts StarWind VSAN/CVM.
However, running yum updates or apt update && apt upgrade is not recommended.
p.s. CentOS 7 is EOL and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is EOL soon too. Please keep an eye on the release notes; the migration process is on its way.
