Hello,

I have this complicated problem. I tried to update an older version of VSAN StarWind Virtual SAN v8.0.0 Build 12166 to a newer version. But it always ends up that the disk array stops for about 20 minutes during the day. I found that this may be related to the license, i.e. the virtual disk array was created using the GUI. This is true, but how do I make the existing disk array redesigned using powershell into a state that will work with the new version. Do I need to create using powershell a new disk array and move the data? Or is there a way to use powershell to edit the existing disk array and make it work with the new version of VSAN?

Please advise.
Thank you very much

Hi,
But it always ends up that the disk array stops
Could you please let me know what you mean by the virtual disk array?
Does it affect both StarWind VSAN replicas?
stops for about 20 minutes during the day.
Do you refer to the synchronization drop?
StarWind VSAN does not allow creating arrays unless you are referring to MDADM inside the CentOS-based VSAN VM.

To find out if this incident indeed relates to the license or not, open the Windows-based console and see if the disk is saying NOT LICENSED or not. In logs, look for entries saying something about license, other than license recognition on the service startup.
If you see these, request the new Free license here https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwi ... e#download and apply it (Go to Windows-based Management Console -> Configuration -> Register -> Modify -> apply the new key). It works for Free too.

Just out of curiosity, was this system ever running a trial license?
