I have searched the message boards and the FAQs but can't find a full procedure for updating our 2 node VSAN hosts. From what I can tell,
Verify the hosts are in a Synchronized state
Place the host into maintenance mode in the Starwind management console
***Power off SW-HCA-VM-01*** (not sure about this part)
Update ESXi normally
***Power on SW-HCA-VM-01*** (not sure about this part)
Remove host from maintenance mode in the Starwind management console
Does this procedure appear accurate?
Thanks in advance!

This worked like a charm, just wanted to confirm the necessity of Maintenance Mode on in the Starwind Managment Console.
Service vms powered back on very quickly and synchronized right away.
Thanks for your assistance Yaroslav!
My procedure was:
Verify the hosts are in a Synchronized state
Power off SW-HCA-VM-01
Update ESXi normally
Power on SW-HCA-VM-01
Repeat on 2nd host

Yup, that's the solid one we normally use too.
Please make sure to check the iSCSI paths to be available from all StarWind VMs before restarting a node. If some of the paths are not available, rescan the storage adapter and VMFS, and check again.
