I've come back to starwind after some time with freenas, But this time the write performance is way worse then I remember. See the attached pic.

This is with Write-Back turned on and 6GB of RAM.
It could be because i'm using ReFS this time, that has a cluster size of 64KB where as the underlying storage is 4KB.

Update, changed it all over to NTFS and now I get this. Now it's like the RAM cache isn't used at all? except for ramdom reads.

I though about turning L@ write cache, but I don't have the option to enable any experimental features.

At my home I having running most of the time about 5 or 6 different VMs for playing with. Without a decent L1 and L2 cache, the data churn is unbearable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Can you share more information on the underlying storage? The main things we need to know whether the settings you have comply with the recommended ones found at https://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware. ... ssd-disks/
Additionally, how is your iSCSI initiator configured? We would need as much information as possible.
Moreover, our Support Team will contact your directly.
