My use case is testing and comparing performance of SQL Server using AlwaysOn availability groups and synchronous replication and automatic failover vs SQL Server using Failover Cluster Instance on local storage with various disk replication options. I’m interested in testing the free version, but all the documentation I can find suggested using the GUI which I understand is not free. Does anyone have a procedure to configure the free version to create windows failover cluster using all local storage and StarWind to simulate a shared disk?

thanks in advance

chell, thanks for providing the links the link.

campbellwarren, you can have GUI in your StarWind VSAN Free for the initial period of 30 days from the license activation. After that, GUI will become unavailable. In your use scenario, 30 days trial period may be quite enough and you will manage everything with GUI enabled.
