Hi All,

I am using the StarWind Virtual SAN Free Edition in order to create iSCSI LUNs for a lab VMware environment I am trying to set up (studying for my VCP exam).
I have tried to set up either the FULL installation or branching it out as a console installation on the DC and Virtual SAN server installation on the VC. While I can successfully add the VC on which the VSAN server runs, as soon as I try to connect to it I get:

StarWind Service not found on host LABVC01.

Further information: I have 2 IP ranges: 192.168.10.x for server IPs and management traffic for VMware, and 192.168.11.x for iSCSI traffic. I can successfully ping the 192.168.11.100 address of the VC's iSCSI network so nothing wrong there. But I cannot get this application running and can therefore not proceed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Craig

CraigV,
What you need to install is StarWind VSAN. This will install the necessary components. After you do this, go to the StarWind Management Console and connect to the hosts.
Feel free to let me know if you encounter any issues.

That seems to have done the trick, thanks Boris!
