I'm running StarWind on a Windows Server 2016 box and have the X8DTT-IBQF SuperMicro connect to it though the BIOS iSCSI boot option. Windows Server 2012 R2 and 2016 installs ok but I get an inaccessible boot device error when it reboots after the install.

I see traffic on the target server for about 10 seconds then it drops to nothing and about 2 min after the Supermicro gets a BOSD. Attached are some screenshots of my setup.

I can connect the target to another server and the same server since I installed to a hard drive just to make sure I can install Windows on the hardware.

Any ideas on what to check or how to narrow down whats going on?

Could you please specify the way you have installed Windows Server on ISCSI target?
What Virtual Disk Sector Size you have configured for StarWind device?
What PXE image you have used?

Installed though USB drive using Rufus to copy over the Windows Installer ISO and also though IPKvm with a new downloaded of the Windows Server ISO.
What Virtual Disk Sector Size you have configured for StarWind device?
Where can I check that? I left it all defaults when I made the target.

What PXE image you have used?
No PXE since it boots off the initiator on the bios?

Andersr,
You can check Virtual Disk Sector Size from StarWind Management Console by clicking on the device.
In order to make Windows boot from iSCSI disk, you have to setup it on iSCSI disk. In this case, it will "understand" that it has to boot via iSCSI.
If you install OS on local disk and then will try to boot via iSCSI, you will get BSOD.
Please let us know the result.
