I just setup a strawind 8 Hyper-V cluster with NFR license.

Code: Select all

8/22 14:11:24.626 610 Srv: StarWind Virtual SAN v8.0.0 (Build 9611, [SwSAN], Win64)
8/22 14:11:24.626 610 Srv: Built May 26 2016 18:23:32
8/22 14:11:24.626 610 Srv: Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter (full installation) Edition (v6.3 Build 9600)
I have added target witness and CSV1 with lsfs2 LUN
now my witness drive is not in use at the moment but CSV is and when I look into the image1 folder there is almost 500 files like
image1_10.spspx, image1_11.spspx , image1_12.spspx ... image1_617.spspx

there are not entirely consecutive so I assume some of them get deleted some how, but what are they and why so much?

thanks

Hello VladR,
.spspx is LSFS storage file. It contains all data blocks, map blocks and the log. The numbers in file names may not be in consequent order, as some files with unneeded data were deleted.
You can read additional information about LSFS devices by links below:
