No interfaces when creating replica

I am using the guide here: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/techni ... manual.pdf and when I get to step 19, I don't see any interfaces for my server (see image below). I just see them for the server that should be the replica. What am I doing wrong or not doing?

As far as I understood, you can see IP`s only from one node.
Could double check your NIC`s on each node?
Did you create your configuration as shown in the manual?

The configuration is like what is says to do in the manual. If I sign in to the other server, I see the IP address of the other server, so I see the exact same as I see on the first server.

My guess...
1. IP's on replica server not on the same subnet.
2. Different VLANs or VLAN trunk issue.
3. Firewall blocking port 3261 on the specific interfaces.
4. iSCSI initiator service not started on one of the servers.
5. MPIO not installed or initialized on one of the servers.

Make sure the primary server IP and the replica server IP are on the same subnet. Connect the management interface to both servers using the primary IPs.. i.e. 172.24.96.xxx

1. Same subnet.
2. Not a VLAN issue. The Sync interface cables are connected directly to the servers, no switch is involved. I can ping all interface IPs from each host.
3. Firewall is disabled.
4. Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service and Microsoft iSCSI Software Target is running on both servers.
5. Multipath I/O is installed on both servers. How do I make sure it is initialized?

Is there anything I have to configure for iSCSI on the servers?

You have to "Add support for iSCSI devices" under the Discover Multi-Paths tab. Click Add and your server will restart.
You may have a license issue on one of your nodes.
You don't have to Discover Portals until you get ready to create a cluster.
You only have to run the Initiator service and MPIO.

Can you connect both servers to the Starwind Management Console ?

I applied my license to both nodes.

Yes, I can add both servers to the console.

Have you tried deleting the image file and creating another? (delete files on disk too)

Kevin, I've done this repeatedly over the last several weeks and I have always been able to see the replica. Other than a license issue, there is no reason why you should not be able to see at least one network interface from both servers. I would avoid using direct attach until you can see interfaces from both servers in the replication manager. It does work and you will be able to created a replicated storage clustered file server. I don't like Windows NFS services but the SMB is quite practical. You can use both if you like.

I would start from scratch. Keep all the network adapters on the same subnet and work from there.

Thank you for the input - you have been really helpful. The only thing that I would add is that in case if the license doesn`t cover the two-nodes storage (aka HA device), then the button to create it should be greyed out.

Kevin, do you have MS iSCSI target installed on the servers? If so please uninstall it, restart the server and run the StarWind wizard again.

Hi,
I have a similar problem to this post (in Windows Server 2016) so I ask here not to start another similar post.
The problem is that it does not load any interface in the sync channel list window.

I have checked the 5 points above.
What may be the cause of this problem?.
The solution is uninstall MS iSCSI target installed on the servers?. How can I do that?

iSCSI Target can be removed using Remove roles and features in the Server Manager. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lib ... removerrfw
Choose File and Storage Services->File and iSCSI Services->iSCSI Target Server and follow the wizard.
