I am new to StarWind and downloaded the free version last week (8.0.8730). I installed on Windows Server 2012 R2 in a VM. I am trying to deploy VSAN to a different host running ESXi 6.0U1a.

I get the error: Unsupported hypervisor version. Version 5.1 or upper is required.

Here is the content of the debug log (which wasn't very helpful):
22:38:21.963 Starting VSA Builder Wizard
22:38:21.979 Installation id:
22:38:54.597 Initializing service. Url: 192.168.10.11, Username: root
22:38:56.026 Connecting hypervisor takes 456 ms
22:38:56.027 Hypervisor version: 6.0. Build: 3073146
22:39:03.389 Cancelling wizard
22:39:06.437 A task may only be disposed if it is in a completion state (RanToCompletion, Faulted or Canceled).

I saw posts on this problem with ESXi 5.5 back in 2014 and there was a fix then. Can anyone help me get past this with 6.0? Thanks

Unfortunately, this feature is outdated and not working properly in the current build. You still have the option to download a prebuilt OVF template from your personal customer page or just deploy a standard windows VM and install StarWind there manually.
