I recently upgrade from v6 to v8 to hopefully solve a different issue, which it seems to have.
However, could someone please explain how I access my old v6 Imagefile.img from within v8?
In v8 I have tried:
+Add Device (advanced)
Hard Disk Device
Virtual Disk
Use an Existing Virtual Disk
Location
and then it doesn't see the image files, only the *.swdsk files next to new v8 *img files.
Is there a way of creating these *.swdsk files to allow me to open v6 *.img files?
or do I have to reinstall v6 and somehow export the img files as something else?
thanks

Try to do following:
Create a new device on v8 with exactly the same parameters that the old v6.
Stop starwind service and replace the newly created v8 IMG with the old v6 one.
Star the starwind service again.
That will probably do the job.

Thank you,
I tried this on a 10Gb image file and it worked, but for the ~2TB imagefile I had to create a small imagefile with the same settings and name etc as the larger v6 file and then amended the 'interval size' in the *.swdsk file to be the correct larger size and it also worked!
