New SW Build, SW V 8

2xDL385G8, 192GB RAM
8x600GB, RAID 6
All 10G Backend

I've got 640GB Fusion IO cards that can be fully used for L2 cache in each server

Should they be used as datastores, then added to the starwind VM's as drives or should they be passed thru with PCI VMDirectPath to the SWIND VM so vmware doesn't see them?

Any thoughts?

There is no difference in performance for sure. So you can configure it according to your wishes. I prefer using vmdk since it's just more flexible in terms of possible reconfiguration/storage provisioning.
