Hello again,

yesterday i downloaded iSCSI Initiator (iSCSIInitiatorSetup.exe) and installed on my windows xp professional sp3 with all patches applied using an administrator account.

Then following the manual (StarWind_iSCSI.pdf) connected to my Ubuntu (iscsitarget) and i created one iSCSI connected disk. That disk didn't appear in my disk management applet. When i tried to delete that connected disk on Starwind iSCSI applet i received a BSOD. Then uninstalled Starwind iSCSI initiator.

Tried to install Microsoft iSCSI initiator and connected ok to Ubuntu target, disk appear in my disk management applet and i can format it and use it.

Tried to connect to my iSCSI target using VirtualBox integrated iSCSI initiator and connects ok, i can run VMs from iSCSI.

Could you help me, please?

Microsoft iSCSI is very slow and i would like to test Starwind iSCSI initiator.

i have sent log file of use to admins.

Thanks in advance

What disk size do you export? Is it already initialized or not? When you launch Disk Management can you see anything there?

Hello jps1x2,

We saw the problem that caused your issue. Our R&D team is working on your bug now.
For now I can only suggest you to take continue work with our initiator and to decrease "stresses" on the target.

Thank you for understanding.

Hi Anatoly,

thanks for your reply, find enclosed log file of your iSCSI initiator from:

C:\Documents and Settings\...\Configuración local\Datos de programa\StarPort.log

I have posted again the problem i had.

yesterday i was registered using my mail of work and downloaded your application using this account.

I use this mail for forums, etc.

Thanks again
my iscsi target is not stressed, just use it for testing and is always idle.
What disk size do you export?
Disk size 2 Gb:

Code: Select all

root@ubuntuBck:/mnt/disco2/storage/# ls -la
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2097152000 2011-06-14 18:53 lun3.img

root@ubuntuBck:/mnt/disco2/storage/# cat /etc/ietd.conf
Target iqn.2011-06.mydomain:storage.lun3
MaxRecvDataSegmentLength 65536
MaxXmitDataSegmentLength 65536
IncomingUser
OutgoingUser
Lun 0 Path=/mnt/disco2/storage/lun3.img,Type=fileio
ALIAS LUN3
Is it already initialized or not?
It is not initialized, i created file lun3.img on ubuntu and i would like to format it on windows with NTFS format using your iSCSI initiator. Created using following command:

Code: Select all

dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/disco2/storage/lun3.img bs=1024k count=2000
When you launch Disk Management can you see anything there?
Yes, all my physical disks and Ramdisk are there.

Thanks for your help

NOTE: Edited for adding iSCSI target info
