When I installed starport at my laptop it installed just fine. But on my desktop I get the message "driver can't be installed".
I'm running win xp sp2 rc2 on this machine. Could that be it??

Hi Martin,
Yes, this could be because of the XP SP2 RC2 installed.
Thank you for the information.
Will look at the issue in the nearest time...

Hi Martin,
I've tested StarPort build 0x20040605 with WinXP SP2 RC2 (v2149) and found no problems...
It installs good and I can create and remove devices (both remote and local).
Which WinXP SP2 RC2 build are you using on the desktop?
Definitely there were some problems using StarPort withXP Sp2 RC1 (v2190) (mounted hard drives could not be unmounted).
But the issue seems to be gone with current SP RC2 build v2149...
Please give us a bit more details about the configuration of your PC where the problem is - maybe there is some interoperability issue...
BTW have you uninstalled an old StarPort package before installing the new one? - It shouldn't be a problem but if you have some automounted devices in the old StarPort during a new StarPort installation - it can break the installation process...
