Automount is also disabled when using CHAP authentication. While it might be a security oxymoron to automount something with a password, having a locally stored password decrypted automatically is still better than allowing a connection if a client simply knows the IQN.

Just to confirm - you are talking about the StarPort now, correct?

Is that software still supported? Some time has passed by now. So I assume there were numerous updates to it, right? I am from https://postcodefinder.net/scotland/, where I can read about these developments in more detail? Please send me some ideas or resources to learn more about the software. Thank you very much for your tips and help.
