Hi,
I’m configuring my tape library and drive connected through FC on a physical server in one Virtual Machine. I already installed the software, configured and I’m able to see the devices on my VM correctly.
Now I’m trying to configure this devices at IBM TSM Backup Server and I’m getting some errors that I don’t understand. How can I find the device number to add the path at TSM? What type of library should be at this scenario? Someone have a manual that can help me with this?
Thank’s.

Greetings,
Welcome to StarWind Forum.
Please note that VTL works only over iSCSI. Try installing VTL on the backup repository where the IBM TSM is running.

I'm trying to use tape redirector without VTL. Does I need this im my scenario?
I"m communicating with microsoft iscsi iniciator on IBM TSM is running and I can se the devices working fine on windows device manager. When I try to define the path to the library on TSM I receive the error: Unable to open library by using an open system all. ANS8001I Return code 15.
I think this is a configuration mistake because because I don't know how to add the device in tsm using this type of connection. Show i still use scsi connection?

Hi,
I solved the problem without VTL. My problem was the path to library and drive on TSM Server.
Thank's.
