MSL4048 - Drives not showing in VM

Hi,

I have created a target for the tape library, and attached both Tape drives to it on a Server2019 host that the tape library is directly connected to. The host can see the tape library and the two LTO-7 drives in device manager, and the drivers are all up to date.

Over to the guest VM, run from the same host, I have discovered and initiated the tape library, and it appears in device manager. The two drives however do not appear in device manager.

In troubleshooting I have tried creating separate targets for each tape drive, and connected to them using the iSCSI initiator, but they still do not show up in device manager on the guest VM.

Any ideas?

My first step would be installed the corresponding drivers in the VM.

I have tried that, but still no luck. There are no unknown devices in device manager either.

Looking in to the driver idea further... turned out that my drivers were the second latest ones out there.

Installing the latest StoreEver drivers made it all magically work.

Thanks Boris!

You are welcome. It's nice you made it work finally.
