HI, I have just tried StarWind to redirect a tape for use by a Hyper-V VM. I can connect and use the tape drive via iSCSI but I am wonder what is the meaning of "Local Access Mode"? If I want to share the tape between the physical host and the VM (not at the same time), what should I do?

Hi! Thank you for posting!
You need to create the tape device using StarWind, then open the iSCSI initiator in the VM and connect to the Tape exported as iSCSI target. As the last step you need to install Tape drivers on the VM.

That should do the job.
