I'm trying to configure starwind tape redirector to connect VM's running on Hyper v to tape drive through Iscsi connection, when i installed the SW.
I created the target and connected the tape device to it, but i'm unable to connect through iscsi initiator i got authorization failure, when i remove device from target here i can connect to the taget through initiator.
but at both i cant see any additional device in device manager except tape drive.
note that the authontication is anonymous.

find below the log file.

Hi,
The logs say that the device you're trying to attach can't be accessed on the local computer
SPTI device '\\?\usbstor#sequential&ven_hp&prod_c5683a&rev_yu8b#48553106014e5547&0#{53f5630b-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}' in target 'iqn.2008-08.com.starwindsoftware:hv-3-tape' can't be accessed from the local machine.
Could you please tell me what is the model of the tape device you're using and if it has a persistent "device instance path" (Device Manager->Device Properties->Details)
Also, do you see the tape as a single device in the device manager?

Could you please tell me if the device is used by any other application other than StarWind.
There should be something preventing StarWind from getting full control over the device.

According to log both target and initiator run on the same machine (initiator should run on a different machine, physical or virtual). Please confirm what you"re doing as it"s we who reject connect attempt.

...if you connect from inside a VM make sure you use bridged connection (VM has own IP) as iSCSI would not work over NAT reliably. At least not with us :)
