OK downloaded and installed starwind 8 beta.
Loader (Dell PV-122T) under host environment (device manager) recognized, in 'media changer devices' and 'tape libraries'. Attached to host computer (x3650) by adaptec 29230 card, os is w2k12r2.
Successfully Imported tape loader in starwind management console. Made target ok.
Target successfully attached to host. In management console (Starwind) there is indicated connection.
DPM in host server show up library and 8 slots.
But no command is working. Scan, Inventory etc product no viewable results. DPM is producing alerts like
Before this library were full working in old w2k3 server.

What can I do next? Is it any way to check if library is accepting commands in management window?

Start with replacing Beta with Release Candidate. Then make sure you've adjusted request buffer size on initiators as it's not what we can do automatically w/o operator intervention. See:

If it would not work please make sure ypu provide us with StarWind logs as it's very difficult to deal on your issue description only. Then we'll be happy to proceed with troubleshooting. Thank you!

You are welcomed to sign up to our Beta Testing program by using the link below and filling the forms:
www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-v8-beta
After we receive your contact information you`ll get the v8 RC and the trial license key.

I hope that helped.

Hello,

i was confused today. I used link you wrote and probably have RC version installed.
In 'about' section of management console I have:
Management Console: 8.0.6441, SPTI, tape, tapeLSFS etc - all is in version 8.0
So I think I have latest version. But guest via iscsi doing nothing with library. I will check http://www.starwindsoftware.com/forums/ ... t1089.html today, but have another question.
Could you help me where to get SCSI Persistent Reservation Test tool, like PResTest v 1.0?

Thanks.

Can I split the drives - one drive for acronis, and one for DPM.

If not, can I create one iSCSI target that is used by both - presumably there I will be able to instruct the software as to which partition to use?

You can connect two drives to different apps as long as they do have different SCSI addresses.

No you cannot share the same tape device between multiple app @ the same way. These types of accesses are exclusive.
