Hi Anatoly,
I tried that and then I could successfully connect to the host, but the tape drive was not visible when I tried to add a device.

Unfortunately we don`t have the Tape Redirector with the fix for you, however the latest SPTI technology that is used to share the tapes is implemented in the latest Beta of our iSCSI SAN software. You can get the installer and the license key for it by registering in our Beta-Testing program. Please use the link below to apply to it:

Thanks Anatoly, but this is a production system and can't risk running beta code. We'll just have to leave it for now.

The only option for you right now is to wait until the release update of our software.

It's a user-land application so it cannot crash your host. Feel free to use V8 beta / Release Candidate.

Hello
I instaled Tape Redirector on Hyper V 2012 R2, i can connect to tape in the target but i cant see the new iscsi disk drive in the disck managment, how can i solve this problem?

Actually I finished connecting the tape to the target and followed the steps in the following URL http://www.starwindsoftware.com/using-s ... rve-backup , but i cant find the disk in the disk managment and either in the device manager ( I can see the tape but cant see the new disk).

There's no disk you should see tape device exactly you have on server. When you did connect to initiator connected client should pop up dialog asking for tape device drivers. Do you have anything like that? Do you have any devices with exclamation marks in your Device Manager?

when i connect the tape drive to the server i see the tape in device manager. when i connect to in the Iscsi initiator while the tape is connected in the target i got authorization failure, so i deattached the tape from the target then i were able to connect in the initiator,then i reattached the tape to the target, at this phase i still can see the tape in device manager, but cant see any additional device or disk in disk manager and device manager.
if the deattach cause this how can I solve the authorzation failure issue, keep in mind that the authontication level is anonymous.

Not sure what's attach and detach really means in your case. Redirect tape drive / loader ONCE and provide support with a logs from StarWind running @ server and Device Mgr screenshot on a client after iSCSI initiator connect.
