Hi

just trying the latest version of the tape redirector. I had reported this issue over a year ago but gave up at the time. Thought I'd try again but no avail.

I have a Sony LIB-81 changer and the redirector lists the drive within, but not the changer itself. what can I do to hopefully correct this? it's kind of useless without the changer..

the device is listed in Device Manager as "Sony LIB-81 Medium Changer"

what information is required to get this detected?

1) Drop a message to sales@starwindsoftware.com or support@starwindsoftware.com (eventually you'll end with the same techies either way...) and make sure you run the most recent build. Tape Redirector is not high prirority for us (obviously) so we did not update public build for years. Eventually we'll merge it with V8 release scheduled for October 18th.

2) Make sure you have all the StarWind logs of your attempts to export the whole device (tape drive + corresponding loader unit). Support will ask for them.

hi.. just an update.. I figured this part out, the library was listed as 'unknown medium changer' in device manager. when I updated the driver to the sony driver 'Sony LIB-81 Medium Changer' then the export autoloader lists it. so that's solved.

however next problem; the tape drive is not listed. if I do export autoloader, select the library, next it asks to select the tape drive but nothing is listed there.

If I go through to export just the tape drive and not the library, the drive IS listed and exports.

sure I'm missing something simple. any suggestions?

Could you upload the screenshot of the corresponding wizard window please?

export tape drive - drive within changer is listed and exports.
export autoloader - changer is listed

click next, and drive within the changer is not listed.
