May I ask you to reproduce the issue with the 3d logging level on StarWind?
To switch logging level you need to change string <LogLevel value="1"/> to <LogLevel value="3"/> in starwind.cfg file (you can find it in the StarWind installation folder), and restart the starwind service.

Please note that we recommend to switch the logging level back after you will reproduce the issue.

sorry for taking time to reply.

it was hard to find the relevant info in the log.

i am getting this error when i try to upload the file: The extension txt is not allowed.

I am having similar problem as the OP and have the latest v8 beta.
The tape device goes offline when the media is changed.
My workaround is to use Task Scheduler to STOP / START the Backup Exec services before the backup jobs run.

This is strange as we've supposed to have this fixed with V8. Thank you for reporting back we'll take a look!
