SW Tape Redirector With Windows Server 2019

Postby rabjac » Thu Oct 17, 2019 11:02 am

I've just installed SW Tape Redirector on my Windows Server 2019 host (where my LTO-7 tape drive is physically located). I now want to use the Windows Server 2019 VM, running on the same host, to have access to the tape drive. How do I do this? The tape drive is recognised correctly in the host Device Manager, but is not within the VM. Ultimately I want to run ARCServe Backup on the VM. Apologies for asking this type of question, but I am new to SW Tape Redirector.

You need to discover the iSCSI target of the tape drive in the VM's iSCSI initiator. After this, you need to install the drivers for the tape drive there.
