Failed to write block. Error code "665"

Good morning,

I am useing starwind VTL on a server 2019.

I have a VM with server 2012R2 with DPM, everything works fine except 1 (large, around 6 tb) backup to tape does not work.

After a couple of TB i get this error in DPM 30101 Data error Cyclic redudancy check 0x80070017.

At the same time the following error occurs in VTL:

UID 2068 CODE 4355 Description VTL Device VTL2: TAPE 'xxx" Failed to write block. Error code '665'

Now i am trying the following regfix on the DPM: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Agent BufferQueueSize 5 and the backup is running.

In the meanwhile i am open to other suggestions, if the bufferQueueSize regfix fails.

Kind regards

Greetings,

Please consider updating VTL and VSAN to the latest build and reconnecting the tapes over iSCSI. Also make sure to split the tape in parts so that each part is 1 TB. If updating does not help, please send me the logs again and log a call with us at support@starwind.com
