Hi,

I'm exploring options to get our backups offsite into Wasabi and it seems like Starwind's product is the best fit for this. However, I'm having kind of a mental block. It looks like I add a VTL device and it creates a bunch of 12TB virtual tapes. However, I don't see anything about how it managed true free space on the underlying storage device. Is there some kind of document that explains this somewhere?

Yes, you can check that in StarWind Management Console even in the free version. StarWind Management Console is available for monitoring. Alternatively, you can check that in Veeam.
