Hi,

I downloaded the Starwind Server 4.0 free edition and loaded the free personal registration. The VTL option is only allowing me to create 256MB VTL disk.

According to the download site the free version should allow me to create VTL disk of 512GB. Can you please let me know what i have to do this free version to allow me to create size larger then 256MB?... I am just trying out this product before i go an do the investment.

* Basic version of VTL feature allows creation of maximum 4 devices with maximum size of 512 GB each

Thanks.

Hello ThomasS,

It is possible to build a cluster using the free version of StarWind Server 4.0, but the maximum image file size a free version can create is 2 GB.

Thanks,
Rob

Dear community!

Please note that since the our licensing policy for the trial versions of our software has changed recently with the release of version 4.1 of StarWind Server iSCSI SAN.

From now on VTL option will only be available in StarWind VTL Edition. The same applies to the trial versions - in other words, if you would like to evaluate StarWind VTL - you will need to download the trial version of StarWind VTL Edition (http://www.starwindsoftware.com/downloads) or buy one :)

No VTL is available in the trial version of StarWind Server Standard Edition any more. Neither is in the Enterprise Edition.

Thanks,
Rob
