Async "WAN" Replication and the 2 channel requirement

So I have two starwind v8 servers on the opposite sides of a WAN with the goal of running async replication to the offsite location. This is one of the bullet points on the v8 beta page. However, the replication manager makes you choose a replication channel and a heartbeat channel. Ok, I can see this for sync rep in a local datacenter. However for strictly async over a WAN this makes no sense at all. First of all, you would need a WAN link that supports VLANS which ours does not because of the way they configured the ring we rent part of. Secondly, if you have no true redundant second path, running the two channels across the same wan link is exactly the same as running 1 channel. This is suppose to be a WAN friendly solution is it not?

We are preparing a new RC2 build with a lot of updates on asynchronous replication. It really doesn't require the second channel. Update will be published next week.

Thanks. I was hoping it was something that would be fixed.
