What version of the VMware VAAI does v8 Beta 2 (8.0.6180) support ?

I did a lookup on VMware Storage site and found the support for starwindsoftware 5.4 Ent-HA, for esxi 4.1U.

I see 3 API startwindsoftware need to put in there software:
VAAI-Block
VAAI-NAS
ODX

Advanced LUN technology:

1. If the data source and destination are located on LUNs located on the same volume, cloning will be processed by Advanced LUN technology which saves up to 99.9% of the storage space consumption and accelerates cloning at the same time. To leverage Advanced LUN technology for cloning on ODX, you are suggested to format the NTFS volume with 8K or above cluster size.

We'll do block VAAI (will be in V8 release for sure, now included in beta) and ODX (early version, maybe we'll include it as an experimental stuff in V8 release). No plans to support NFS VAAI as we don't expose own NFS services and rather layer MS ones on top of our block back end - no way to add VAAI to NFS w/o breaking in into Microsoft code...

Ok,
Does that mean you support all the features of VAAI-Block?
Hardware-Assisted Copy
Hardware-Assisted Zero
Hardware-Assisted Locking
Thin Provisioning Stun
Thin Provisioning Block Reclamation

But you should look into having your technology move to NFS and not only iSCSI.
that way you will be the first to offer
VASA
VAAI-iSCSI
ODX-iSCSI
VAAI-NFS
ODX-NFS

This should cover the 2 big boys out there, as for other I am not sure what they use.

1) Yes everything listed would be supported with LSFS and partially with FLAT (no space reclaim with FLAT for example).

2) Why should we mess with own NFS?

3) We do work with Xen just fine. For others - they need to grow a bit as their niche cannot feed us now.
