V2V converting Hyper-V Gen2 VM with Secure Boot enabled?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to migrate a Hyper-V Generation 2 VM to VMware ESXi using StarWind V2V Converter, but the VM currently has Secure Boot enabled and uses a UEFI boot configuration.
Before starting the migration, I’d like to know:
- Does StarWind V2V Converter correctly handle Gen2 (UEFI) VMs with Secure Boot during conversion?
- Should Secure Boot be disabled before conversion to avoid boot issues on ESXi?
- After conversion, will the VM still boot normally as EFI, or do I need to manually adjust firmware settings in VMware?
If anyone has migrated a similar setup, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience or any recommended steps.

Thanks!

Gen2 has no problems with V2V. I'd suggest to convert a disk and then try re-creating that VM. Also, I'd disable secure boot for this conversion just in case.

I would advise converting a disk before attempting to recreate that virtual machine. too
