I'm testing the software to see if we want to start using it, and I'm trying to P2V a Windows 11 computer onto VMWare ESXI 8. I installed the software without any problems, but when I run it, I go through the steps as outlined in the FAQ here: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/v2v-he ... erver.html , but when I get to the step where I need to enter the ESXI connection parameters, it asks me for the hostname and not the IP address. I've tried entering the hostname of the server and the IP address of the server, and no matter what I do, it flashes "Connecting, please wait..." for a second, then that goes away, and a few seconds later the app just closes.

I'm running what I think is the latest version of the software - 9.0.1.772. I downloaded it last week and I'm just starting to test now. Is there some way I can get it to ask for IP address instead of hostname? I've even tried updating the hosts file on the computer to see if it would go through, but the same result every time. Is what I'm trying to do even possible? is there a way to install it so I can enter the IP instead of the hostname?

Welcome to StarWind Forum! You can just type IP in that box.

I've tried that - it says "Connecting" for a second, then nothing for a few more seconds, then the whole app just closes. I've tried it on two different computers with the same result.

Thanks for your update. Please share the conversion logs.
Try disk2VHD > convert the VHD as a local VMDK and create the VM on the destination host.

Where do I find the conversion logs? It hasn't converted anything, so I'm not sure what they'll show.

I did try changing the hostname of the VMWare box. Now it doesn't crash, but when it tries to connect, I get a message that says "no data".

I also tried making a disk file but we have nothing that can hold a file that size (approx. 500GB). Only the server we're trying to convert to.

I'm trying to attach the log files, but it says "invalid file extension". How am I supposed to attach them if the attachment doesn't work?

UPD: The dev team tried to reproduce the behavior. WIN11 conversion ran well to ESXI8. It looks like there's an issue with the networking.
