Trouble connecting Hyper-V hosts to StarWind VSAN storage

Hi everyone,

I’m setting up a small StarWind VSAN lab with two Hyper-V hosts and running into a problem. The StarWind service is up and I’ve created the devices, but when I try to connect from the Hyper-V hosts, the iSCSI initiator doesn’t seem to discover the targets properly. It just times out after a while.

I’ve already checked basic networking — both hosts and the VSAN node can ping each other — but I’m not sure if I missed something in terms of firewall rules or configuration on the StarWind side. I also wonder if there’s a specific step needed to make the targets visible in Hyper-V that I might have overlooked.

Has anyone else had this issue? I’d really appreciate some guidance on what I should double-check first.

Thanks!

Welcome to StarWind Forum!
Is it a CVM-based setup? Also, what is the storage configuration? I'd suggest using StarWind VSAN as a Windows application (should come as the link ending with *.exe in the "welcome" email).
Try pinging the StarWind CVM IPs from the client hosts..
