Hi all,

I’m currently migrating a physical server to Azure using StarWind, but the process is taking longer than expected. I have a couple of questions:

Does StarWind perform a final sync or snapshot at the end of the migration to capture all recent changes made during the transfer window?

Once the migration is done, if we’re not ready to switch users over immediately, is it possible to later "refresh" or resync the Azure VM with incremental changes from the physical server? Or would we need to redo the P2V from scratch?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Welcome to StarWind Forum

Yes, V2V allows for the online conversion of the VM. It takes a snapshot of the volume and leaves the VM in Azure off, so you need to turn off the boxes manually.

No, it leaves the box as is, so if any data arrives to the physical server after conversion, it will not get to the VM.
